Roy and Kathy Sakuma received  the 2014 Distinguished Peacemaker Award on Sunday, September 21, 2014 during a ceremony held at the UH Urban Garden Center in Pearl City. Roy and Kathy were honored for their commitment to peace through the Roy Sakuma Ukulele Studio and the reach that they have for peace here in Hawaii and throughout the world.

Students from the Roy Sakuma Ukulele Studio played along with their teacher to the delight of the crowd who filled the newly created outdoor amphitheater located on the UH UGC grounds.
