The Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) held last Friday’s lunch meeting at the Highlands Intermediate School (HIS) Student Center in Pearl City which is the future home of our club’s Friday lunch meetings.  We all had a great time and were truly inspired for the potential of the HIS Student Center and all that the facility and school has to offer while enhancing our Rotary lunch meeting experience.

The HIS Student Center gives the RCOP the opportunity to invite leading guest speakers in their specific fields of leadership to our Friday weekly lunch meetings that include the potential to speak in front up to two-hundred attendees. The RCOP also has an opportunity to schedule community meetings, events, and conferences in the HIS Student Center rooms that support the facility.

Last Friday’s lunch meeting began with HIS Principal Lance Tanouye addressing RCOP members in attendance while welcoming us to Highlands Intermediate School and the Student Center. Principal Tanouye also expressed his gratitude to build upon our partnership and support between HIS and the RCOP.

HIS and RCOP have cultivated a unique partnership through the years that supports school programs, activities, and events and most recently Principal Tanouye offering the HIS Student Center for RCOP lunch meetings, activities, and connection to the school’s student body, faculty, administration, and school supporters from the community.

The RCOP will be supporting HIS with a $250.00 donation in support of the upcoming COLTS EXPO scheduled for April 17, 2025 on the school campus. The COLTS EXPO is inviting 5th, 6th, and 7th graders and their families from Pearl City to explore the school in action and get inspired.

The RCOP was also honored last Friday as HIS Interact Club/Student Council Officers made a PowerPoint presentation with regard to the school’s upcoming annual Valentine’s Day Dance and Celebration that is filled with fun activities throughout the day for the HIS student body and ohana to enjoy. The HIS Interact Club/Student Council Officers and Chairs are planning and organizing the 2025 HIS Valentine’s Day Celebration.

THE RCOP WELCOMES AND INDUCTS SARAH CHINEN AS ITS NEWEST MEMBER

One of the top annual goals of Rotary International is to expand its membership worldwide. The Rotary Club of Pearlridge hit a homerun with the induction of Sarah Chinen on Friday at the HIS Student Center.

Professionally, Sarah is currently an executive assistant for Eric Fujimoto at Ho’ea Wealth Advisory Group where she specializes in event planning, scheduling, and social media. Sarah’s club classification is Executive Assistant-Wealth Management

Eric Fujimoto is the 2025-2026 RCOP President-Elect and was on hand on Friday to swear in and present Sarah with her official Rotary pin and Rotary membership certificate.

Congratulations Sarah!
