The Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) on Tuesday presented the Highlands Intermediate Rotary Interact Leadership Club with a $250.00 check donation from the Rotary Club of Pearlridge, and a $500.00 check donation from the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association. Rotary Club of Pearlridge Past President and Hawaii Rotary District 5000 Past District Governor Dick Mosko, and me, Barry Villamil, 2024-2025 RCOP President, made the check presentations, as well as welcomed the incoming Highlands Interact Club Officers, Board of Directors, and members to the new school year. Interact Club pins were also presented to the Officers and Board of Directors.

Highlands Intermediate Rotary Interact Club members also represent the school’s Student Council. The eight graders return in 2024-2025 as 2023-2024 National Student Council Leadership Award winners. They have their goals set on winning the school’s tenth National Student Council Leadership Award. The RCOP is extremely proud of them and grateful for the opportunity to support and mentor them as a part of our Rotary Club of Pearlridge Interact Leadership Program.

Mahalo to Highlands Intermediate Student Activities Coordinator and Interact Leadership Advisor Eric White for all his support and for providing a group of photos from yesterday’s check presentations. Mr. White and his students were also working on this Saturday’s Halloween Haunted House and Halloween Party. Pretty scary stuff. I’ve never seen a Haunted House like the Highlands Intermediate Haunted House that Mr. White and his team is constructing filled with monsters, incredible artwork and graphics. SPOOKY!

The Highlands Intermediate Rotary Interact Leadership Club is one of four RCOP sponsored Interact Club schools:

Pearl City High School

Highlands Intermediate School

Our Lady of Good Counsel School

Cross Academy School
