Kailua pounds on Pearl City 65-6, drops Chargers to 0-8 overall

The Kailua Surfriders dropped in to Pearl City High School’s Edwin Bino Neves Stadium and after four quarters of play, road off with a 65-6 pounding of the Pearl City Chargers Saturday night in Pearl City. Kailua improved to 4-2 league, 4-5 overall, while Pearl City remained winless at 0-6 league, 0-8 overall in Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I league standings. 

Kailua Surfrider QB Isaiah Keaunui-Demello completed 9-16 for 184 yards and 4 touchdowns. Romeo Ortiz completed 2-2 for 69 yards and 1 touchdown.

Starting Pearl City Chargers QB Ikaika Torres completed 14-26 for 124 yards and 1 touchdown. Jonah Galanto completed 4-10 passes for 40 yards.

The Chargers return to action at home on Friday, October 25 for their regular season finale on Senior Night against the Leilehua Mules (5-1 league, 6-3 overall).
