The visiting Nanakuli Golden Hawks (6-6) powered their way past Pearl City (5-7) on Saturday by defeating the Chargers 9-1 in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I regular season finale for both teams. Nanakuli dominated Pearl City at the plate outhitting the Chargers 12-4. Damian Griffin 2-4, double, 2 runs scored; Donald Kapaku 1-3, double, 2 RBI; Blaze Baltazar 2-3, triple, RBI; Chavez Kanakaole 1-4, triple, RBI, run scored all powered extra base hits against Charger pitchers. Nanakuli on defense held the Chargers to a single run behind a solid pitching performance by game starter Donald Kapaku who picked up the win. Devin Fujino took the loss for the Chargers.
The Golden Hawks finished second round play with a 4-2 record after going 2-4 in the first round. The Golden Hawks scored big second round wins over Campbell (OIA West #3 seed) and completed a season sweep over the Mililani Trojans (OIA West #2 seed). They also avenged an 8-4 (F/11) first round loss to the Chargers at Nanakuli. Pearl City finished first round play at 3-3 and 2-4 in the second round. Nanakuli will represent the OIA West as the #4 seed and Pearl City the #5 seed in the next weeks OIA Championship Playoffs. Aiea is the OIA West #1 seed.

Congratulations to 10 Charger Seniors who played in their last home game of their Charger baseball careers on Saturday at Pearl City High School. The Charger Seniors, along with Senior Charger team managers were recognized and celebrated during Senior Day following their regular season finale against the Golden Hawks.
