I would like to share a video and photos of the Pearl City Chargers Boys and Girls Judo Teams in action on Saturday at the Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division Judo Tournament held at Waipahu High School. The Charger Boys entered yesterday’s tournament as the newly crowned 2024 OIA Boys Team Judo Champions which they captured last Saturday at Moanalua High School.
Saturday’s OIA Western Division results TBA. The Chargers Boys and Girls head off to the OIA Boys and Girls Individual Championships on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Leilehua High School. HHSAA State Team and Individual Championship to follow on Saturday, April 27 at Stan Sheriff Center on the campus of the University of Hawaii Manoa.
I wanted to send my congratulations to Charger Head Coach Robin Puahala and his amazing coaching staff who have coached with Coach Puahala for many years and have contributed their talents, skills, and experience to the success of the Charger Judo program’s storied legacy.
It is also extremely inspiring to be around a group of coaches who are former Charger student athletes in the program and whose legacies represent many individual and team championships. They have returned to give back to the program and the sport they love, and the coaches they respect while playing an integral role in the future of Charger Boys and Girls Judo. Their contributions are building upon the next layer of success and Charger legacies yet to come and celebrated.
