Aidan Yoshida tossed a three-hitter in seven innings of work for the Aiea Na Ali’i to earn a 7-2 win over the visiting Pearl City Chargers on Saturday in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division I Baseball played at Aiea High School. The Na Ali’i improved to 2-0 and unbeaten while the Chargers suffered their second loss in a row and remain winless in league play.
In the win, Yoshida allowed 2 runs, 3 hits with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks over 7 innings. Pearl City starting pitcher Jase Lorenzo took the loss for the Chargers pitching 3 1/3 innings while allowing 4 runs, 6 hits with 1 strikeout and 2 walks. Halona Felix and Noah Bernal both pitched in relief for the Chargers.
Na Ali’I Na pounded out 9 hits against the struggling Charger pitching staff with power hitters Shayden Muraoka and Bostan Ujimori leading the way at the plate. Muraoka batted 2-3 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI and a run scored. Ujimori went 2-4 with a triple, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.
Charger lead off hitter Ethan Higashionna went 1-3 wit a RBI and run scored. Logan Honma batted 1-3 with a RBI. Jodi Takara batted 1-2 with a run scored.
