This years HHSAA State Bowling Championship came with lots of challenges, but patience the tournament was a success. thank you Naomi and HHSAA staff. We know it wasn’t easy.

Starting with the Girls legendary Coach Millie Gomes had other plans, she continued her quest to be the most winningest bowling coach in PearlCity High School history, that title is held by 8 time boys State Champion Jimmy Hayashi.
After the last 3 games on friday and a 4 hour delay because of power outage, bowling resumed play around 12 noon. PCHS beat 2nd K.S. Kapalama by 617 pins , and 714 pins over 3rd Hanalani.
to complete the high school’s triple crown. and giving Coach Millie Gomes her 7th State title.

Sami continues her run to be Hawaii’s best High School female bowler. Sami was steady throughout the two day tournament that was enough to capture the individual title.

the Boys competition had a lot of bowling action. After thursday’s first 5 games KS Kapalama had the lead over Castle, HBA & PCHS only 200 pins separated PCHS from 1st place so we had our work cut out and was up for the challenge. On Friday the battles began, each team left no rock unturned, the lead changed throughout the last 3 games. and HBA finally won the State title after
a 13 year wait. congrats to Coach Hayashi (Jimmy Hayashi’s older brother) and the entire HBA team for great bowling.

Our Boys bowled with a lot of heart after a rough start on Thursday putting them behind, rolling 883,884 964 in the last 3 games bowling with HBA . Both teams were pushing each other to be their best out on the lanes. I’m very Proud of each member of our PCHS bowling team. “One Heart One Team” we’ll be back next year stronger and better, the team said.
Boys individual title was very close, just a few pins separated first through third place, but PCHS Junior Jayden Kadooka held his composure throughout this two day competition. and finally won the individual title he wanted so much. Congratulation JAYDEN!
