Pearl City QB Trey Dacoscos had another all-star performance as he led his Charger teammates over a tough Waialua Bulldog team 28-20 last night in OIA DII Varsity Football played at Pearl City High School.. The Chargers celebrated Homecoming and Senior Night in front of a spirited Chargers homefield crowd that packed the Chargers Edwin Bino Neves Stadium.
Dacoscos gave the Chargers faithful a lot to cheer about as he delivered another stellar performance scoring touchdowns through the sir and on the ground. Dacoscos completed 36-56 passes for 329 yards and 3 tpuchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown.
Once again, Dacoscos spread the wealth amongst his talented corps of Chargers receivers.
Koali’i Torres: 6 receptions for 65 yards
Keaton Tomas: 8 receptions for 54 yards and 1 touchdown
Bobby Best: 2 receptions for 47 yards and 1 touchdown
Javian Mizuno: 5 receptions for 41 yards
Lennon Elder: 4 receptions for 35 yards and 1 touchdown
Waialua QB Emery Abilla completed 9-16 for 84 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Abilla connected on a 14 yard touchdown pass to Ricardo Brincker for the Bulldogs final touchdown in the third quarter. The Bulldogs also scored on a 6 yard rushing touchdown by Makoakai Fierro in the second quarter, and an electrifying 90 yard second quarter kick-off return by Kaleb Rice.
Pearl City improves on their OIA DII regular season undefeated record to 5-0 and atop league standings. Waialua falls to 2-3 in league play.
Pearl City will host the Kalaheo Mustangs (2-2) on Friday, September 29 with kick-off scheduled for 7:30pm.
