Pearl City opens District 7 Majors Championship Tournament with big win over Waipio

_{Pearl City picked up a solid win over a tough Waipio team 3-1 to advance in the winner’s bracket of the 2023 Hawaii Little League District 7 Majors Championship Tournament played at Pearl City District Park on Saturday.}

_{Pearl City starting pitcher Ryden Kohagura earned the win, while Korey Wagatsuma picked up the save with a strong performance in relief of Kohagura. Kaimana Higa got the start for Waipio with Derek Komiyama pitching in relief.}

_{Pearl City will play Ewa Beach on Sunday in the winner’s bracket at Pearl City District Park with first pitch scheduled for 10:00am. Ewa Beach defeated Waialua 7-1 in the second game of the opening round doubleheader on Saturday. Waipio will take on Waialua on Sunday in a loser’s bracket match-up at 1:00pm at Pearl City District Park. The winner advances to play the loser of Sunday’s Pearl City vs. Ewa Beach game on Monday.}
