The Pearl City Chargers pulled off a 6-4 upset of the unbeaten Campbell Sabers on Saturday in OIA Western Division I Baseball played at Central Oahu Regional Park. The Sabers came into the game with a regular season league leading 8-0 record while the Chargers were struggling along at 2-6 in league standings. Charger pitchers held the potent Sabers battery to two hits in the ball game. Pearl City starting pitcher Eli Oshiro picked up the win for the Chargers in 5 complete innings on the hill. Oshiro allowed 2 runs, no hits, with 1 strikeout.
Xavier Streadbeck took the loss for the Sabers pitching 3 complete innings while allowing 4 runs, 2 hits, with 2 strikeouts.
The Chargers put together a four-run rally in the top of the fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead and never looked back. The Sabers pulled within a run at 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning, but the Chargers responded by plating two runs in the top of the seventh and held the Sabers to one run in the bottom of the inning for the win.
