The W1 Pearl City Chargers powered their way past the visiting E2 Kalaheo Mustangs Friday night with a 50-26 win in the semifinals of the OIA DII Girls Varsity Basketball Playoffs at Pearl City High School.
Pearl City led from start to finish pulling away in the fourth period for in impressive 24 point margin of victory over the Mustangs. Shilee Scanlan 13 points, 1-3PM, and Aiyanna Parker 12 points, led the Chargers in scoring. Kalaheo’s Lizzy Kennedy scored 11 points to lead the Mustangs.
Pearl City will take on E1 Castle in the OIA Championship title game on Wednesday, January 25, 5:30pm at Moanalua High School. Castle defeated E3 McKinley on Friday 35-27 in a semifinal match-up played at Castle High School.
It will be the second Pearl City vs. Castle match-up for a 2022-23 OIA Girls Basketball championship with Pearl City defeating Castle 54-33 to win the 2022-23 OIA DII Girls Junior Varsity Basketball Championship this past Thursday at Castle High School.
