Mahalo to Senator Bennette Misalucha who once again organized this past Saturday’s annual beautification project in seven Pearl City and Aiea complex schools. Mary Villamil and I volunteered alongside fellow Rotary Club of Pearlridge community volunteers led by RCOP President Dick Mosko at Waiau Elementary School in Pearl City.
Volunteers on Saturday who also represented the Navy, Pearl Harbor Rotary Club, and other community volunteers and their ohana, helped stencil Waiau Elementary School official logo Dolphins on the sidewalks for safe social distancing. Volunteers and school maintenance staff also beautified the administration building and school entrance grounds, as well as parking lot sidewalks and curbs by clearing away overgrown grass and weeds.
Mahalo to Waiau Elementary Principal Troy Takazono and Vice Principal Kim Koga for providing volunteers with workday supplies and ono morning snacks and beverages to get us all started, and hot pizza for lunch when the work was completed.
Mahalo to Senator Misalucha, staff member Bernie Caalim and everyone who volunteered their time on Saturday to beautify Waiau Elementary as the school prepares to welcome back students, faculty, and staff in a couple of weeks.
Have a wonderful week!
