Thank you to everyone who made yesterday’s Honorary Certificate presentation at Our Savior Lutheran School in Aiea for Lasar McCabe who is the Community Service Chair for the Rotary Club of Pearlridge a well-deserved success. We are so proud to serve with Lasar in the community as Rotarians.
Lasar received Honorary Certificates from the Honolulu City Council (Councilman Brandon Elefante) and the Hawaii State Senate (Senator Bennette Misalucha). Our Savior Lutheran School Interact Youth Club students presented Lasar with the school’s community service award.

“What a wonderful opportunity to recognize one of our very own Rotarians, Lasar who is just the epitome of “Service Above Self”. She really reflects what we are really about in Rotary. I encourage all to follow her. She is an angel, truly an angel. It has been a wonderful opportunity, not just to celebrate Lasar, but also to be here at Our Savior Lutheran School where one of our newest Interact clubs are, and they are awesome actively engaged in having a role model like her. Thank you for the opportunity, I am so grateful to be invited.”
Clarence De Lude – Principal, Our Savior Lutheran School
“This is very good and Lasar deserves to get these awards. It’s an awesome honor for Lasar. Everyone I talked to said we should honor Lasar. She is very special. I love the service and community outreach part of our Rotary Club of Pearlridge. Whatever it is, we’re there to help.”
Senator Bennette Misalucha
“Service brings Joy. You can see this joy reflected in Lasar McCabe's face every time she spearheads a project, responds to a community need or works quietly with others on a particular project. She continues to inspire us all to let our light shine into the world. Through her great example, our next generation of volunteers can be made manifest. Mahalo, Lasar for your incredible service to our community. God bless you”
Honolulu City Councilman Brandon Elefante
“This is truly special. Lasar is a remarkable woman who’s a public servant, very dedicated, and wants to do the right thing and she’s passionate about it. You see it in her actions; you see it with the school support, with the Rotary club, the Lions club. Also with the elected officials that are here, as well as many other organizations. She mentioned that it really takes a community to help her including her family. She is definitely honoring and deserving of this very important reward. Such an unsung hero. We need more people like her in our community.”
Tad Tsuruma – Incoming President, Pearl City Lions Club
“Lasar is really good and deserves to get this award. Whatever we can do to help is very much appreciated and everybody else that we work with and assisted that’s the main thing for the community.”
Congratulations Lasar!
