I had another amazing experience on as a proud Charger on Friday hanging out with iconic and beloved PCHS teachers Mike Ishihara, Kay and Mel Bicoy and Ann Hewett who is also a PCHS alumnus from the Class of 1979. Kay invited me to join them at lunchtime in F building room 102/103 which used to be auto shop back in the 70's when I attended PCHS and is now the P.E. / weight room.
Kay billed today's get together as "small kine New Year, Stuck on Aloha oldies but goodies" with the objective to celebrate our friendship by sticking mochi together with a toast and pledge and commitment to stay together in support for PCHS.
Kay passed out a piece of mochi for each of us along with a wooden chopstick which we used to pound our mochi. We stuck our mochi together, made a toast, and downed each piece as part of our New Year, Stuck on Aloha stay together celebration.
We spent about 45 minutes telling stories and reminiscing of our fond memories and experiences that spanned over 50 years at PCHS. Mike first stepped on the brand new, under construction PCHS campus in 1971 when the school first opened with Kay following her one year later in 1972. I entered PCHS as a freshman in 1973.
I truly appreciated today's opportunity to be included in the PCHS stick together ohana experience and I'm looking forward to next year's special day.
