Mahalo to Manana Elementary School teachers Cynthia Nagamine (left) and Iris Stokes (right) who invited me to speak to their third grade students in the school cafeteria on Friday, December 3, 2021.
I was invited to share my experiences growing up in Pearl City and my thoughts about what makes Pearl City a special place to live in. The students and I also participated in a Q&A session as a part of their class project. It was a lot of fun as I was able to share a bunch of really neat experiences growing up in Pearl City in the 1970’s. The student’s also shared their thoughts and experiences about what makes Pearl City a special place to live in today.
During my visit last Friday with the class, I also had a truly wonderful opportunity to present and introduce to the students and their teachers Stuck on Aloha and the many inspirational, heartfelt stories and messages from the Pearl City community that fill each page in the book. I shared a couple stories and gave them a few books to share and read in their classrooms.
It was a wonderful experience visiting with the amazing Manana Elementary third graders that I will always appreciate, remember and cherish.
With Aloha, Love Lives…
