My fellow organizing committee buddies, Kelsey Poaha, Naomi Tully Ungacta, Sean Sugai, Senator Bennette Misalucha, and Robert Sato were honored this morning with visits to Pearl City Highlands Elementary, Manana Elementary, Palisades Elementary, and Waiau Elementary to drop off school supplies and cleaning/disinfecting supplies that were generously donated by sponsors and residents during this Saturday’s Senator Breene Harimoto School Supply Fund Drive held at the Momilani Community Center in Pearl City.
Mahalo to Principal’s Zachary Sheets (Pearl City Highlands Elementary), Bryan Loo (Manana Elementary), Gavin Tsue (Palisades Elementary) and Troy Takazono (Waiau Elementary) for the warm welcome to their campuses. It was so nice to reconnect with them after many months a part due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Our organizing committee will continue our school supplies and cleaning/disinfecting supplies delivery schedule to Pearl City Complex Schools with visits on Tuesday to Kanoelani Elementary, Lehua Elementary, Momilani Elementary, Pearl City Elementary, and Highlands Intermediate with a final visit to Pearl City High School on Wednesday. On Friday, we will return to the 10 Pearl City Complex campuses to present each school Principal with a check from monetary funds donated by our sponsors and the community.
We are truly blessed by our community’s heartfelt and much appreciated generosity that has enabled us to donate much needed supplies and monetary assistance to our schools in this time of need as we also honor the late Senator Breene Harimoto’s legacy of giving.
