The Kaimuki Bulldogs defeated the Pearl City Chargers 36-6 on Friday on Homecoming Night for the Chargers at Pearl City High School's Edwin Binio Neves Stadium. The Bulldogs (5-1) pulled into a three-way tie for first place with Kaiser and Roosevelt in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division 2 league standings. The Chargers fell to 2-5.
Kaimuki QB Jayden Maiava passed for 256 yards, completing 16/24 with a touchdown and no interceptions.
Kaimuki's Naomas Asuega-Fualaau was a force on offense for the Bulldogs rushing for 121 yards on 12 carries with one touchdown and also caught 9 passes for 106 yards and one touchdown.
Pearl City got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter on a 19 yard touchdown pass from Charger QB Adam Puchert to Joshua Gleason.
The Chargers return to action against PAC-5 on Saturday, October 5, 2:00pm at Aloha Stadium.
