The Aiea Na Ali'i revenged an earlier regular season loss to Pearl City by defeating the visiting Chargers 8-3 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division I baseball played at Aiea High School on Monday, March 26, 2018.
The Chargers committed seven errors in the ball game that included dropped balls that had a profound effect on the Chargers losing by five runs. In their last meeting, the Chargers blew past the Na Ali'i 14-4 (5) to open the regular season on February 28.
Trey DePonte earned the win for the Na Ali'i. Kulia Neal took the loss for the Chargers.
Aiea's Chase Ling batted 1-3 with a double and 2 runs scored.
Sam Prentice went 1-2 with a homerun, RBI, and 2 runs scored for the Chargers.
Aiea improved to 3-4 in league play, while the Chargers suffered their second loss of the regular season and sit in second place tied with Mililani at 5-2. Campbell defeated Mililani on Monday 2-0 to take over sole possession of first place at 6-1.
This is a huge week for the Chargers in the second round of league play as they travel to Mililani to take on the Trojans on Wednesday, and will host the Campbell Sabers on Saturday. The Trojans shut-out the Chargers 6-0 on March 2 at Pearl City. The Chargers got past the Sabers 3-1 (12) on March 7 at Campbell.
