Highlands Intermediate robotics teams qualify for VEX World Championships

On Jan. 7, Pearl City Highlands Intermediate robotics team 394B captured the Excellence Award at the 2017 Hawaiʻi State Middle School VEX Championship sponsored by the Hawaiian Electric Companies. The Excellence Award is the competition’s highest award which recognizes the top all-around team for robot performance and team presentation skills. Two robotics teams from Highlands Intermediate are qualified to compete at the VEX World Championship to be held in Louisville, KY in April.

The Pearl City Highlands Intermediate robotics team 394 was part of a two-team alliance with Waiakea Intermediate that won the Tournament Champions honor at the 2017 Hawaiʻi State Middle School VEX Championship sponsored by the Hawaiian Electric Companies.
