Gregg & Jaci, together, Pearl City wins!

Nov 7, 2016 | PC Community

I would like to share the photo below that Jaci Agustin shared with me earlier this evening. The photo was taken this afternoon as both Jaci Agustin and Gregg Takayama were campaign signwaving in Pearl City. Jaci and Gregg are challenging one another to represent the 34th District, State House of Representatives (Pearl City, Palisades, Waimalu).

Gregg is the Democratic incumbent, while Jaci is in her second bid to win the 34th seat as a Republican. Both are friends of mine who I have worked closely with in many community service projects in Pearl City. They both have huge hearts and love their community and the people who call the 34th District home.

Jaci and I serve together as Board Members for the Pearl City Community Association, and as active members of the Pearl City Lions Club, as well as the Rotary Club of Pearlridge. I have worked with Jaci on many community service projects through the years that have truly improved and enhanced the lives of our residents and their ohana. The latest project was with the Pearl City Community Association who partnered with the Pearl City Foundation to present the first annual K. Mark Takai Family Fun Day this past August, 2016. it was a great honor, with the blessing of the Takai ohana, to present the day which will be celebrated each year in August at the Momilani Community Center.

Gregg has always been there for the community while representing himself as a community member and his office as an area legislator. Gregg, Jaci, and I have worked together as members of the Pearl City Lions Club on community service projects that include supporting our Pearl City District Complex Schools and community beautification projects. Representative Takayama generously donates recognition certificates to 72 "It's Not All Right To Run The Red Light" Traffic Safety Awareness Coloring Contest Winners representing students from our eight Pearl City Complex Elementary Schools. The annual "It's Not All Right To Run The Red Light" Traffic Safety Awareness Campaign is sponsored and presented by MyPearlCity.com and the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association. The traffic safety awareness campaign also includes a Pearl City Complex signwaving day in April that involves all 10 complex schools from elementary, intermediate, and high school. Both Gregg and Jaci participate on signwaving day.

Tomorrow is a win, win for all of us in the 34th District. Whoever wins the election will represent and serve us with the best of their abilities, dedication, community oriented skills, and connections. The same can be said for the runner-up who will continue to work alongside our residents as a community leader and volunteer while supporting our 34th District Representative. The most important aspect and quality that define the two candidates during this campaign season is the level of class that both represent for one another, their families, and our community. Our 34th District is truly blessed!

"Campaigns can be competitive, but they don't have to become negative", Jaci…
