Waialua over Pearl City 27-23 in OIA D2 varsity football

Pearl City went down to Waialua 27-23 in OIA D2 varsity football action played on Monday at Pearl City High School. The game was a continuation from last Saturday's match-up that was suspended in the fourth quarter due to lightning in the area. Pearl City took possession on offense with 10:59 on the clock in the fourth quarter with Waialua leading the Chargers 14-12.

Waialua got on the scoreboard on a two yard rushing touchdown by Mila Lele that put the Bulldogs up 20-12 with 9:53 on the clock in the fourth quarter. The PAT was blocked by Pearl City's Kasey Kikuyama.

Pearl City came back and scored on a 40 yard strike from Isaiah Asinsin to Dante Mcgee at 8:42 in the quarter to pull within two points at 18-20. The Chargers tied the game at 20-20 on a two-point conversion pass from Asinsin to Patrick Nunez.

The Chargers took a 23-20 lead after breaking the 20-20 tie on a 30 yard field goal by Zameer Kahn with 4:36 left on the clock in the fourth quarter.

Waialua scored the go ahead touchdown on a 25 yard TD strike from QB Royce Tashiro to Brandon Aceret at 1:04 of the fourth quarter that put the Bulldogs up 26-23. Kamaki Lacar tacked on the PAT to go up 27-23.

With :26 left in the quarter, the Bulldogs ran out the clock on the Chargers seven yard line to end the game.

Pearl City pulled even at 1-1 in league play while Waialua improved to 2-0.
