Pier 1 Imports Celebrates New Store Grand Opening, July 24 in Pearl City

Pier 1 Imports will open its newest store in Pearl City with an official grand opening ceremony on Friday, July 24., at 9:30am. The new store has is approximately 9,294 square feet and is a relocation of its former location within the Pearl Highlands Center at 1000 Kamehameha Hwy.

"Pier 1 Imports is honored to continue our commitment to our customers in Hawai'i with the opening of our new Pearl City store," said Alex W. Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pier 1 Imports. "Pier 1 Imports offers merchandise that fits all decorating styles, as well as a broad array of affordable seasonal décor, furniture and gifts, and we look forward to continuing to share our unique shopping experience with the residents and visitors of Pearl City and the surrounding area," Smith said.

The Pearl City Pier 1 Imports store will be led by store manager by Bobbie Thompson Tom and will employ approximately 29 associates.

Pier 1 Imports will be donating $2,500 to Child & Family Service, a local nonprofit organization. The funds will go towards the support of Child & Family Service's Leeward Domestic Violence shelter and Transitional Housing facility.

"Child & Family Service thanks Pier 1 Imports for this generous donation and their continued support of our work statewide," said Howard Garval, President & CEO of Child & Family Service. "Thanks to this donation, mothers and their children will have a safe, nurturing environment in which to rebuild their lives and to gain confidence, learn financial literacy and acquire healthy parenting skills."

Grand opening festivities for the stores include:

  • 9:30 a.m. Traditional Hawaiian blessing ceremony by Kahu Kordell Kekoa
  • 10:00 a.m. Store opening
  • The grand opening will feature untying of maile lei, live entertainment by Aaron Domingo a free signature reusable bag, the iconic Pier 1 Imports back scratchers and other giveaways for the first 200 shoppers.
