The stakes were not as high as the last time Pearl City and Kaiser met in an OIA championship tournament match-up, but the intensity and pride was evident as the two teams battled with Pearl City coming out on top 6-4 in high scoring shoot out last night at Roosevelt High School.

Last year at this time, Pearl City defeated Kaiser to win the 2013-2014 Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I Girls Soccer Championship. Last night, the Lady Chargers and Lady Cougars played for the OIA tournament fifth and sixth place with both teams already qualified for a berth in the upcoming HHSAA State Championship Tournament scheduled for February 13-14, 20-21 at Kamehameha-Kapalama, BIIF Regional Site, and Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex.

Pearl City's Randi Fontes led Pearl City with two goals followed by Jenise Starr Tagalog, Bethany Nazareno, Zoe Sano, and Daelenn Tokunaga with a goal a piece for the Lady Chargers.

Noelle Mercado kicked in two goals for the Lady Cougars with Noe Seaman and Amanda Lui each scoring a goal.

Pearl City enters the state tournament with a regular and post season record of 10-3-1. Kaiser comes in at 9-3-1.
