Taamu named OIA White Division Offensive Player of the Year

The Oahu Interscholastic Association announced on Sunday that Pearl City's Jordan Taamu was named the 2014 OIA Offensive Player of the Year for his outstanding performance as the Chargers senior signal caller. Taamu led his teammates to a runner-up finish to the Nanakuli Golden Hawks in the OIA White Division Championship game as well as a first round birth into the HHSAA State D2 Football Championship Tournament.

Jordan Taamu had a great year for the Chargers completing 157 of 257 passes for 1779 yards with 29 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Taamu also rushed 392 yards on 66 carries with 2 touchdowns.

Pearl City senior running back Dominic Maneafaiga led the Chargers in both rushing and receiving. Maneafaiga rushed for 680 yards on 106 carries with 9 touchdowns. He also picked up 635 receiving yards with 42 catches and 10 touchdowns.

OIA White Division Champion Nanakuli landed Head Coach Keala Watson as the  Coach of the Year while Randy Manewa picked up the Defensive Player of the Year for the Golden Hawks.

Taamu was joined by the following Chargers as OIA White Division First, Second, and Honorable Mention All-Star selections:
