"We contacted the Lighthouse Outreach Center and said we wanted to adopt a family that was transitioning from the homeless shelter to a permanent home. But, they actually said what we really could use are some toys for the children, because we have nothing for them to open. They had food, they had clothing, but no toys. So we thought we could help by providing toys for the children.

"We've had a great community response to the effort of the "Twelve Days of Christmas". The volunteers came over from Pearl City High School and they helped us to wrap all the presents and get them labeled. They made sure that whatever the child asked for, they got something close to it. It was a great time, and it really put all of us in the spirit of Christmas. I really would like to thank the community for coming out and providing a lot of gifts and getting in the Christmas spirit with us."
