The Pearl City Lady Chargers captured their first ever Hawaii State High School Team Air Riflery Championship on Tuesday at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall in Honolulu. The Lady Chargers followed up their OIA Championship win earlier this month with Tuesday's state championship win.
The Lady Chargers championship team of Ashley Somera (535), Jennifer Loui (529), Kristi-Lin Wasano (520), and Kristi Takaki (515) had a combined score of 2,099 points, beating second place Punahou by 21 points with a combined score of 2,078. Waiakea was third (2,074) followed by 4th place St. Anthony (1,963) and 5th place Kauai (1,813).
Nadia Hata from Maryknoll took the individual state championship title: 196-170-182 — 548
