"We've been in business for five years," said Jill Shigano. "So far the Leeward Farmers Market has been good for us. We sell basically shave ice and drinks. Our favorite flavor is Rainbow. People also like our Dreamsicle, Melona flavors.

Who came up with your Shiga'licious Shave Ice business name?

"Derek came up with the name," Jill said. "The name just happened," commented Derek (son). "It was actually from Fergalicious. From Fergie."

How has the experience been so far at the Leeward Farmers Market?

It's been good, really good. Now its football season, it's hard. I can catch the afternoon games, Derek said. "So far the Leeward Farmers Market has been good for us," added Jill.

Other locations?

"We actually have a store on Kinau Street right at the bottom of the hill by the POB buildings," said Destin. "The owner is actually not here today; his name is Kyle Shigano, our older son."

"He normally runs the store during the day," Jill said. "Sometimes he comes out here too. We also do other events such as Discover Kakaako which happens every second Saturday of the month. We also do crafts fairs and fundraisers at various schools."

"We also do golf tournaments," Destin said.

Special Mahalo?

We would like to say thank you to all of our customers," The Shigano's said with much appreciation for their patronage and support. We're actually doing it for our son, so he thanks us," Derek said jokingly. "We would really like to thank Nalo Farms for giving us the opportunity to come here."
