Parishaan Carter-Amorin kicked the winning goal yesterday in double overtime to lead Pearl City over Konawaena from the Big Island in the opening round of the HHSAA Girls Division I Soccer Championships at the Waipio Soccer Complex in Waipahu.
Konawaena's #5 Jasmine Ward scored the games first goal for the Lady Wildcats to take a 1-0 lead over Pearl City at the 49th minute.
Sara Ng's goal at the 67th minute tied the score for the Lady Chargers at 1-1.
Carter-Amorin's winning goal came at the 94th minute in the second overtime period. Pearl City (10-1-4) advances to tonight's tournament quarterfinals and will face OIA Champion and #2 seed Moanalua (10-0-3) at 5:00pm at the Waipio Soccer Complex Main Stadium.
Pearl City will be looking to avenge a 1-0 loss on January 25, 2012 to Moanalua in the quarterfinals of the 2012 OIA Red Division Championship Playoffs.
