The Campbell Sabers grinded out an 8-7 victory over the Pearl City Chargers in Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Western Division Junior Varsity Baseball played on Friday, December 30th at Campbell High School.
The Chargers jumped on Sabers starting pitcher Tryzen Patricio for four runs in the top of the first inning that was highlighted by Jake Bactista's 3 RBI triple.
Campbell stayed close to Pearl City putting up one run in the second and third innings before pulling even at 4-4 in the fourth inning.
Pearl City and Campbell battled in the final three innings with Campbell coming out on top for the 8-7 win.
The Chargers sent three pitchers to the mound against the Sabers with starter Nicholas Au throwing 4 1/3 innings, Sanyo Lo (1 inning), Dane Kaneshiro (1 2/3 innings).
Sabers starter Tryzen Patricio was relieved by Ian Kaahaloa in the fifth inning.
Pearl City returns to the diamond at home on Thursday, January 4, 2012 to face cross town rival Aiea.
The Chargers suffered their first loss of the regular season against the Sabers on Friday and are currently 4-1-1 in league play.
