Pearl City Bonsai Club Exhibit & Plant Sale

May 1, 2010 | PC Community

The Pearl City Bonsai Club held an Exhibit and Plant Sale today, May Day, at the Pearl Ridge Elementary School Cafeteria featuring a wide variety of bonsai trees and plants.

The school cafeteria was filled with beautiful bonsai creations from both experts and novice level enthusiasts. The Pearl City Bonsai Club hosted the event and helped guide those interested in purchasing a plant and learning more about  how to care for their newly purchased bonsai.

Sensei, Ed Nakanishi gave a demonstration workshop on how to shape and care for a bonsai tree. Sensei Nakanishi also identified and demonstrated the proper tools used for the art of bonsai.

If you are interested in joining the Pearl City Bonsai Club all you need is an interest in bonsai. PCBC members meet the third Saturday of each month at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church located at 1525 Waimano Home Road in Pearl City.

The day starts at 8:30am with a meeting followed by a workshop. Members bring a plant and receive help from veteran sensei's under the Mentor Program. Club tools are available but must be returned at the end of each workshop.

Annual dues is $10.00.
