The Urban Garden Center in Pearl City featured "Filipino Cooking Using Unusual Fruits and Vegetables" during the UGC "Second Saturday at the Garden" on Saturday, October 13, 2012.
Urban Garden Center Volunteer, Julia Cabatu presented "Filipino Cooking Using Unusual Fruits and Vegetables" with cooking demonstrations that used fresh herbs and produce.
Dishes included: sari sari, chicken marungay, banana and jackfruit lumpia, layered cassava dessert, kamote and katuday salad, guayabano (soursop) chiller.
Samples from the dishes were available for tasting.
There was also a Filipino recipe cookbook that was available for the public to purchase. Proceeds went towards funding the Filipino Women's League 2012-2013 Scholarship Program.
