Congratulations to Pearl City’s Noah Bernal who led the Chargers over the visiting Aiea Na Ali’i on Saturday with an inspiring, game winning performance that Charger legends are made of and celebrated for years to come.
Bernal powered two homeruns in the ball game smashing both of them over the centerfield fence in dramatic fashion. Bernal’s first homerun came in bottom of the third inning that got the Chargers on the scoreboard while trailing the Na Ali’I 2-1 after three complete innings.
Bernal’s second homerun of the ball game proved to be a game winning 3-run bomb that broke a 3-3 tie and put the Chargers in the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth inning.
After coming into the ball game in relief of Charger starter Ian Wicklund in the top of the fifth inning, Bernal dominated Aiea Na Ali’i batters allowing no runs, I hit with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts to earn the win.
I have to say I haven’t seen many homeruns in the Pearl City Chargers ball park lately, and especially a two-homerun performance. Noah Bernal definitely inspired his teammates, coaches, and Charger ohana on Saturday with his senior leadership and his unmatched, outstanding skills at the plate and from the mound.
Congratulation Noah!
