The Pearl City Chargers pounded out 15 hits in a 13-3 (5 innings) rout of the visiting Kahuku Red raiders on Tuesday to remain perfect at 4-0 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Softball regular season standings. The Red Raiders dropped to 2-1 in league standings.
Lilyanni Mata picked up the win pitching 3 innings while allowing 2 runs, 2 hits, no walks and 3 strikeouts for the Chargers. Aleia-Lyn Tonaki-Sagucio pitched 2 innings in relief of Mata allowing 1 run, 3 hits, no walks, and 3 strikeouts.
Kulani Welch-Hutchins took the loss for the Red Raiders. Welch-Hutchins pitched 4.6 innings while allowing 13 runs, 15 hits, no walks and no strikeouts.
Phoenix Sky Lumabao had an excellent day at the plate for the Chargers hitting 2-4 with a homerun, 3 RBI and a run scored. Saunette Oshiro shined for the Chargers battery hitting 3-4 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Samantha Nakamatsu batted 2-3 with a triple, double and 2 runs scored. Haley Shinjo batted as perfect 2-2 with a double, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Charla Carnate-Tomochi batted 1-1 with a triple an a run scored. Aleia-Lyn Tonaki-Sagucio 1-3, double, RBI; Harlyn Barry 1-3, double, 2 RBI, run scored; Lilyanni Mata 1-2 run scored.
Kulani Welch-Hutchins led the Red Raiders at the plate hitting 1-2 with a homerun, 2 RBI, and a run scored. Ginger Moore 1-2, double, run scored; Mia Rodriguez 1-2, run scored; Martina Simon-Gamit 1-2, double; Mariana Fonoimoana 1-2, RBI.
