The Aiea Na Ali’i (1-0) and Pearl City Chargers (0-1) battled on Thursday in another dramatic, classic rivalry match-up in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division Baseball regular season opener for both teams at Aiea High School.
The Na Ali’i rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 9-8 lead and then held the Chargers scoreless in the top of the seventh inning for the win.
Caden Shaefer picked up the win for the Na Ali’i in relief of starter Dylan Wong, while Jase Lorenzo took the loss for the Chargers. Kawika Mendoza got the regular season opener start for the Chargers.
