Recreation building and comfort station improvements expected to be finished in time for Summer Fun

From: Senator Brandon Elefante

A reroofing project for the recreation building and comfort station at Pacific Palisades Community Park is scheduled to begin this week.

These renovations will require the closure of both of the buildings, in addition to the adjacent pickleball/volleyball court and some of the designated parking. City and County of Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) staff are making accommodations while these facilities are closed for public use. This includes providing portable toilets and relocating affected programs held at this Pearl City location to other nearby DPR parks.

The project is expected to be completed, and the affected park amenities reopened, by May 2025. Just in time for Summer Fun! We appreciate your patience and understanding while these facilities are closed for renovation.

The approximately $351,740 construction contract for this project was awarded to Moriyama Construction, Inc.

The 8.42-acre Pacific Palisades Community Park in Pearl City was opened by DPR in February 1967. Today it is one of 50 community parks around O‘ahu, boasting several park amenities in a unique layout, including: a playground, recreation building, ball fields, designated parking, with outdoor basketball, pickleball, tennis, and volleyball courts.
