The Moanalua Menehune high powered offense and solid as a rock defense rolled past the Pearl City Chargers 55-8 Friday on Homecoming Night in Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I Football played at Pearl City High School’s Edwin Bino Neves Stadium. Moanalua’s win improved the Menehune to 4-0 league and 6-1 overall. The Chargers remain winless at 0-4 league and 0-6 oversll.
Moanalua QB Issac Harney led the Menehune offensive aerial attack completing 21-33 passes for 320 yards and 4 touchdowns. Jayce Bareng led all receivers hauling in 6 catches for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Menehune. Kalino Judalena pounded out 114 yards on 20 carries with 3 touchdowns.
Pearl City QB Ikaika Torres completed 12-28 passes for 105 yards with 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. Javian Mizuno led the Chargers receiving core hauling in 2 receptions for 43 yards. Keaton Tomas caught 3 passes for 27 yards and scored the Chargers only touchdown in the second quarter on a 17 yard touchdown pass from QB Ikaika Torres. Lennon Elder picked up 48 yards on 12 carries to lead the Chargers ground game.
Pearl City and Moanalua will return to league play on Saturday, October 12.
