The Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) received an amazing opportunity to welcome Money Skills For Teens co-author Mike Young as a special guest speaker on Friday, September 13 at the Rotary Club of Pearlridge lunch meeting held at the Pearl City Shopping Center conference room. Mike, along with his wife Gale are co-authors of their newly released “Money Skills For Teens” book which has been a hit on Amazon since the book’s release in July, 2024.

I would like to send a much appreciated mahalo to RCOP Treasurer and longtime officer/board member Gordon Arakaki for connecting Mike to speak at our club meeting. Gordon and Mike are friends as well as golfing buddies. Their friendship and chemistry helped make an instant connection to the RCOP membership and guests in attendance on Friday as Gordon introduced Mike to us all.

Mike started his speech with a short introduction about himself and wife Gale and the overwhelming accomplishment with the release of their very first book that is an incredible resource featuring eight chapters of helpful and innovative and well-researched guide to teens learning and implementing money skills as they mature and become adults.

The books’ cover theme sets the tone for 213 pages of life changing content:

When Your Teen Realizes That Their Wallet Does NOT Come with Free Refills!

Money Skills For Teens begins with the first impactful printed line in the book’s Introduction page:

Are you ready to take control of your own financial destiny!

In my opinion, after reading the book, you should be able to successfully reach your financial destiny!

I would like to share a group of very informative “Money Skills For Teens” videos below from Mike’s speech with tips and an incredible resource to guiding teens towards financial independence:

Mahalo to Mike and Gale for co-writing Money Skills For Teens that will eventually have a global impact as it reaches out throughout the world as the authors share and extend the Aloha in their hearts.

Also, mahalo to Mike for mentioning that Money Skills For Teens would be a great tool for our Interact Club students. Mike also generously donated a couple books that we will pass along to our Interact Club Presidents and purchase a couple more so all four RCOP sponsored Interact Clubs in our program will each have a copy.

Mike Young

Just a quick note to again thank you for inviting me to come talk to your club about our book, Money Skills for Teens! I was very happy to see the reaction from your members to our book.  It confirmed that we are on the right track.

Again, thank you so much and have a great rest of your Rotarian year!
