Visiting Mountain Vista crushed Pearl City on Thursday 83-6 behind QB Austyn Modrzewski’s outstanding performance through the air passing for 338 yards and seven touchdowns with four touchdown strikes coming in the first quarter. Mountain Vista took a 42-6 lead after the first quarter of play.
Pearl City scored their lone touchdown of the ball game on a first quarter 73 yard touchdown pass from Charger QB Ikaika Torres to Javian Mizuno. Torres passed for 215 yards with one touchdown. Mizuno caught 5 passes for 86 yards and one touchdown.
Sean Conway led Mountain Vista receivers catching four passes for 89 yards and three touchdowns.
Mountain Vista outgained Pearl City 672-210 of net offense.
The Chargers were outmatched against a bigger, faster, and well disciplined football team.
The Chargers (0-2) open their OIA Division I regular season against the Waianae Seariders (0-1) on Friday, September 6, 7:30pm at Pearl City High School’s Edwin Bino Neves Stadium.
