Logan Thompson’s 5 TD’s, 180 rushing yards leads Castle over Pearl City 34-20 in preseason football opener

The Pearl City Chargers (OIA DI) and Castle Knights (OIA D2) opened the 2024 preseason varsity football season on Saturday at Pearl City High School’s Edwin Bino Stadium with the Knights powering their way to a 34-20 win. Leading the way on the ground and in receiving was senior Logan Thompson who rushed for 180 yards and four touchdowns and caught 3 passes for 52 yards and 1 touchdown. Thompson scored all (5) Castle touchdowns.

Junior Castle QB Nai Kalauokaaea passed for 144 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 INT. 

Pearl City QB’s Ikaika Torres and Jonah Galanto led the Chargers offense. Torres complete 10-28 passes for 169 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 INT. Galanto completed 4-12 passes for 115 yards with I touchdown and 1 INT. Pearl City’s Javian Mizuno (4 receptions, 104 yards, 1 touchdown) and Keaton Tomas (4 reception, 100 yards, 1 touchdown) led a talented and experienced Charger receiving core.

Castle and Pearl City returns to preseason play with Castle traveling to Nanakuli on Saturday, August 17, 6:30pm and Pearl City hosting visiting Mountain Vista on Thursday, August 22, 7:30pm at Pearl City High School.
