A group of fellow Lions friends and community volunteers from the Mana Loa Nimtz Lions Club (MLNLC) sent their prayers and a final “Lions Roar” for the late Mary Takeshita from Pearl City who died on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the age of 96.

MLNLC friends blessed her spirit with a moment of silence in her honor during a recent club community workday held on Saturday, July 27 at the Aiea Stream in Aiea, Hawaii followed by their inspiring “Lions Roar” that blessed her spirit in the light of Heaven.

Mary volunteered her time in both the Aiea and Pearl City communities on most weekends right up to about a week before her passing. She was a dedicated community volunteer who in 2011, received the Mayor’s Senior Volunteer Recognition Award which recognizes those have devoted their time to enhance and better the lives of residents in the communities they serve. Mary was also a University of Hawaii Master Gardener, former President of the Waiau Seniors Club, and member of other community organizations.

The Mana Loa Lions Nimitz Lions Club misses her dearly. She was the Heart and Soul our club and all who knew her. She will always inspire us all as we set out each day to serve our community as fellow Lions.

God Bless Mary and her ohana…
