Pearl City picked up their second win in a row after defeating Leilehua 4-2 on Monday behind a solid pitching performance by Charger starter Noah Bernal. The visiting Chargers improved to 5-6 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division I Baseball while Leilehua fell to 3-7 in league standings.
Bernal pitched 3.0 innings while allowing no runs, 1 hit with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. Bernal also batted 1-3 with a RBI. Jace Lorenzo and Halona Felix pitched in relief for the Chargers.
Tanner Tammarime went the distance for Leilehua pitching 7 innings while allowing 2 runs, 6 hits with 1 walk and 1 strikeout.
Ethan Higashionna kept a hot bat at the plate for the Chargers hitting 2-4, double, run scored, RBI.
Leilehua’s Hurley Awana batted 1-3, double, and a RBI.
