The Pearl City Chargers rebounded from three losses in a row by defeating the Waipahu Marauders 8-5 on Wednesday in Oahu Interscholastic Division I Baseball played at Waipahu High School. Pearl City found themselves trailing Waipahu 4-1 heading to the top of the fourth inning before exploding on the Marauders scoring seven runs to take an 8-5 lead. Waipahu answered in the bottom of fourth inning with one run to move within three runs of the lead at 8-5. The Marauders left runners on base in scoring position in both the fourth and fifth innings.
Chase Lau earned the win in relief for the Chargers. Jace Noda was perfect at the plate for the Chargers hitting 3-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Ian Wicklund kept up his hot bat hitting 1-3 with a double, 2 RBI and a run scored. Ethan Higashionna 2-4, RBI; Logan Honma 1-4 , run scored; Noah Bernal 2-4, 2 runs scored; Tyler Nishimura 1-2, run scored.
Mason Salausa-Galletes was perfect at the plate for the Marauders hitting 2-2 with an RBI. Chase Maruyama had a solid performance at the plate for the Marauders hitting 3-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Luke Handa 1-4; Chavis Acol 1-4, RBI, run scored; Kamden Takanobu 2-4, RBI; Tobi Yamaguchi 1-3, double.
