The Kailua Surfriders overpowered the Pearl City Chargers last night 54-6 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Non-League Junior Varsity Football payed at Pearl City High School’s Edwin Bino Neves Stadium.
The Surfriders took a 35-6 lead at halftime and continued to dominate the Charger in the second half scoring 19 unanswered points forcing the running game clock after leading by 35 points.
Its been a tough regular season so far for the OIA Division II Chargers who will play most of their games against OIA Open Division and OIA DI opponents. Last night’s opponent Kailua represents the OIA Division I.
Pearl City and Waialua are the only OIA DII league schools to field Junior Varsity football teams in 2023.
The Chargers return to action against the Leilehua Mules from the OIA Division I on Homecoming Night, Friday, September 22 at Pearl City High School. Kickoff is set for 5:00pm.
The Chargers varsity football team will take on the Waialua Bulldogs following the JV Homecoming Game at 7:30pm.
