Family, Friends and the community are grieving the sudden and devastating loss of Maury and Danielle Agcaoili. On May 28th, while on vacation in Alaska, Maury and Danielle chartered a fishing boat with family members however they did not return as expected. Sadly, when they found the capsized boat, both Maury and Danielle had already passed away.
We would like to show our support to their children, Jarek & Jessika, by helping to relieve some of the stress and financial burden, in a time when their main focus should be grieving the loss of their parents. All donations will go directly to Jessika and Jarek to help with funeral expenses and all other immediate and unforeseen financial obligations.

Dear Charger Band Family,
It is with great sadness that I let you know that Maury Agcaoili has passed away and Danielle Agcaoili is still missing from an accident in Alaska. They both leave behind son, Jarek (PCHS c/o 2019) and daughter, Jessika (c/o 2023). It is a difficult time for the two of them, so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
Danielle was our Volunteer Coordinator for the past two years and Maury helped with our truck rentals and equipment. Both of them were invaluable to our program and were planning on continuing to help this coming year. They were both with us during commencement helping chaperone our students as well as celebrating Jessika’s graduation. Those of you that are new to the program, Danielle was at our All Member meeting in April and was the contact for people wanting to volunteer.
Many of you have already seen the news and asked what you can do. A few parents have begun a meal rotation for the month of June so Jarek and Jessika will have food. I’m not quite sure how else we can help, but as band families always do, we come together and lift up each other when support is needed. I have been in contact with both of them, and they are doing the best they can right now. They have been eating, and staying hydrated. (Which is as far as I felt comfortable asking). I’m currently away from Hawaii and will be back June 9th, so I plan to visit them soon after, however I will continue to be in contact with them until then.
If you have any thoughts or messages to pass on, please let me know. Another parent is starting a “GoFundMe” for Jarek and Jessika and I will let you know when it starts. I’m also setting them up with some friends, who can help them navigate any legal and financial issues as they come up in the near future.Please keep the Agcaoilis in your thoughts and don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you need to.
