It was a very rewarding Friday serving the community that started out this morning making a culinary supplies donation to Palisades Elementary School Vice Principal Jan Kanaeholo in support of the school’s outstanding Hui ‘Aha Aina Culinary Program and their next cooking project and showcase.
I later joined my fellow Rotary Club of Pearlridge buddies for our Friday club lunch meeting at the Pearl Country Club that featured our very special guest Kristen Hudson, Director of Operations & Development of the Oahu SPCA, along with Oahu SPCA President Stephanie Ryan, and Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gardner.
We learned about their heartfelt efforts to save, provide medical care, and find homes for animals in need across Oahu and the neighboring islands. The Oahu SPCA is a No-Kill Animal Shelter & Low Cost Veterinary Clinic. Most importantly, Kristen and the Oahu SPCA provide love for each dog and cat that comes through the doors and later leaves with their new adoptive families.
Pearlridge Rotarians who attended today’s lunch meeting also made generous monetary and supplies donations to the Oahu SPCA (dog treats, kitty litter, paper towels).
Have a great weekend!
