It has been a long lasting tradition for the Pearl City Shopping to invite the public to enjoy the annual Chinese New Year Lion Dance Blessing performed by the Lung Kong Physical Club at the shopping center.
Friday night, the Pearl City Shopping Center and the Lung Kong Physical Culture Club welcomed in the 2023 Year of the Rabbit with a traditional Lion Dance Blessing of the PCSC merchants that started at American Savings Bank and ended at the House of Dragon Chinese Restaurant. The Lion Dance Blessing wished prosperity, good health, and good luck to all in 2023.
Mahalo to our wonderful Pearl City community for supporting the shopping center and its merchants by being there tonight to celebrate the 2023 Year of the Water Rabbit.
A special mahalo to Ernie Loo, Director, Lung Kong Physical Culture Club for the 2023 Year of Rabbit good luck gifts. Ernie was happy that everything has returned to normal after Covid affected his clubs ability to perform the many Lion Dance Blessings events each year.
“This is great because Covid is over, and people aren’t scared to be six feet or closer. We noticed a big change in Chinatown because the crowds are getting bigger, finally after two years. It’s nice being here at the Pearl City Shopping Center. Got a great crew over here.”
Mahalo to American Savings Bank, Pearl City Shopping Center Branch, Assistant Vice President, Sasha Siaris who kicked off the 2023 Year of the Water Rabbit Chinese New Year Lion Dance Blessing of Pearl City Shopping Center merchants by lighting the traditional firecrackers that represented wishing prosperity and good luck in 2023.
Also, a special mahalo to Irwin Santos who is the new Pearl City Shopping Center Events and Media Coordinator.
