Leilehua knocked Pearl City out of the unbeaten ranks after defeating the Chargers 7-6 yesterday at Wahiawa Middle School Field. Pearl City remained in first place in a very tight OIA Baseball Western Division with a record of 4-1 while Leilehua improved to 2-3. Mililani and Campbell sit one game back of Pearl City at 3-2.
Leilehua put together a four run rally in the top of the fifth inning to take a 7-5 lead. Pearl City scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to close within a run but came up short leaving a potential game tieing runner on base to end the game at 7-6.
Leilehua’s Pono Anndain earned the win for the Mules pitching 4 innings while allowing 5 runs, 4 hits with 6 strikeouts.
Dacoda Agoto took the loss in 4 1/3 of work for the Chargers. Agoto allowed 4 runs, 3 hits with 6 strikeouts.
