Fun and rewarding weekend for Pearlridge Rotarians and Interact Club students

Dec 18, 2021 | PC Community

I would like to share a wonderful start to the weekend with my fellow Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) that began bright and early Friday morning to help out at Highlands Intermediate School. RCOP President Dick Mosko, board members Rick Lau and I joined Highlands Intermediate Student Activities Coordinator Eric White and Highlands Interact / Student Council students to set-up tents, tables and Christmas themed inflatables for the school’s Winter Formal event that was held on campus at the athletic building courtya

Next up on Friday, the RCOP was truly honored to welcome special guest speaker Del Green at our 12:00pm lunch meeting held at the Pearl Country Club’s Grill Room. Del, who is a past District Governor for Hawaii Rotary District 5000, and current District Rotary Foundation Committee Chair, spoke to RCOP members and guests about the latest news from the Rotary Foundation.

RCOP community volunteers who were joined by RCOP / Our Savior Lutheran School Interact students, school Principal Clarence De Lude, teachers, and school supporters, set out early Saturday morning to help out at the RCOP’s Pearl Harbor Bike Path monthly beautification project.

Volunteers picked up rubbish along the bike path and Pearl Harbor shoreline near Blaisdell Park in Aiea starting at Puuloa Springs to the Peace Bell near the bridge by Cutter Ford.

Mahalo to RCOP volunteers, Dick Mosko, Gordon Arakaki. Ed Kido, Clarence De Lude, Pauline Matias, myself (Barry Villamil), RCOP supporter Mary Villamil and the Our Savior Lutheran School Interact students and school ohana for lending a hand to help beautify the community on Saturday.
