Hawaiian Electric night workonMonday to close 2nd Street and a section of H-1 westbound shoulder lane in Pearl City
Work on June 24 is scheduled from 9 p.m. – 3:30 a.m.
Hawaiian Electric contractors will be doing night maintenance work on steel transmission structures on 2nd Street off Lehua Avenue in Pearl City on Monday, June 24, from 9 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
The work, which is part of a project to upgrade the electrical transmission system in Central and West Oʻahu, will require the closure of 2nd Street near the Pearl City Hongwanji Mission to stage vehicles and equipment. A small section of the H-1 Freeway westbound shoulder lane before Lehua Avenue also will be closed for the safety of the crew and motorists.
Safety signage and traffic cones willalert drivers ahead of the work zone, and special duty police and flagmen will be onsite to assist with pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Residents are advised to pay attention to parking restrictions on 2nd Street.
Motorists should drive with caution when approaching and passing the work site, which will be visible to drivers traveling in both directions on H-1 Freeway.
